Security update, account resolution and KAKOMOON coupons
Kakobuy’s supplied Mid-Autumn announcement addresses a security incident, account-balance restoration and planned security changes. It also introduces the KAKOMOON coupon pack.
What the notice says happened
According to the announcement, a purchasing employee’s credentials were compromised after a malicious custom-order link was submitted. The account was then used to send unauthorised messages and make improper balance deductions on a limited number of user accounts.
Account resolution and next steps
Kakobuy says it has restored 100% of the incorrectly deducted balances. It also states that the related data and backups were deleted after an agreement with the security researcher involved. These are Kakobuy’s statements; this guide has not independently verified account reimbursements or data deletion.
For affected users: check the balance in your account and contact Kakobuy’s live customer service if anything still differs. Use the official account support channel for personal account details.
Changes Kakobuy says it is introducing
- Revised purchasing-system permissions, mandatory multi-factor authentication and rate limits on high-risk actions.
- Security training for purchasing staff and isolated environments for opening external links.
- A review of whether to restrict Custom Orders because of risks from unverified third-party links.

September coupons: check the 30 September deadline
Kakobuy’s September announcement gives a redemption window of 8–30 September, Beijing time, for code KAKOSEP. It describes a CNY 1,300 coupon bundle and a 10% shipping coupon without a minimum-spend threshold. The bundle is a collection of coupons with conditions, not CNY 1,300 in cash or an automatic discount on one order.
Check the coupon you receive for its route eligibility, minimum spend, expiry and combination rules before counting it in your budget. The separate 8–14 September shipping-subsidy earning period and 13–14 September flash sale have ended. The announcement gives 31 October as the expiry for subsidies already earned.
What to do: read the current promotion in your account and compare the amount you actually pay after an eligible coupon.

European shipping: read the July update with your route
Kakobuy’s July announcement says its EU duty-free lines were updated to include the applicable duties, with additional duties covered by Kakobuy. This describes the agent’s named shipping service; check that your actual parcel and selected line qualify.
What to do: confirm the line description, destination, permitted goods and tax coverage at parcel submission. Keep a copy of the terms with your quote. Do not extend this announcement to every carrier, every country or a different route.
The newer July notice follows a 23 June announcement describing a €3-per-parcel arrangement. We link that older notice as background rather than treating its amount as a current universal fee.

28 September: a clearer view of freight and exchange rates
This guide now includes 11 selected Kakobuy shipping quotes for the United States, United Kingdom and Germany. Each places in the top three within its group in the supplied 12 September comparison. The page explains the comparison limits and keeps each route separate.
We also reviewed the 28 September exchange-rate report. For a CNY 1,000 example, the recorded Kakobuy conversion is about $12.49 above the reference equivalent before separate charges. Read this alongside the freight quote when estimating the total payable.
